Day 3: Forest Tower + Møns Klint

真実をさまよえば
真っ黒なところはぶち抜かれ
真新しい風にまた抱かれた
真っ白 - 藤井 風 (Masshiro - Fujii Kaze)

I gotta admit I had to google translate to understand the lyric of that song. I so happened to find Fujii Kaze while randomly clicking things on YouTube and the first song of his that I found was Michi Teyu Ku which I really like, which is also in my playlist - I don't know why it's spelled that way, shouldn't it be Michite Yuku? Darn, my Japanese is bad :( Then I found Masshiro which has a line suki da yo, suki da kedo which with the melody, I just really like it, pretty much the only part of that song that I could understand and sing along. Unfortunately though, I don't think I could pick up Fujii Kaze in a line up, I'm sorry. Anyways he's pretty great, go YouTube him or something.

Day 3 was spent going to Forest Tower and Møns Klint. Forest Tower first. I was intrigued on going here because the pictures of it are very interesting. It's quite a way to get there and there isn't any really easy public transport, so I booked a tour directly from them. There's the option to do the tower plus visiting 2 trolls or plus visiting Møns Klint and Møns Klint seemed more interesting, so I chose that. The walk to the tower was pretty nice. It was calming, trees all around and some wildflowers. Because it was Easter period, I found some eggs cut-out on some of the trees, I wonder if it was supposed to be a hunt? It's kinda great that there's not many people visiting as well. It's really a nice walk, the kind that clears you head and I wish I could have more of.

It's an easy walk getting to the tower because you just follow the one and only path. The tower looks like this and upon reaching it we basically got in and continued walking up to reach the top. There's no staircase so that's the nice. Inside the tower, it's just like a ramp winding up.

My photos of the inside of the tower is not very good. It's kinda dark at the bottom, but it's been a gloomy cloudy day though thankfully not a drop of rain and of course I was just not very good at taking the pictures. There are trees at the center of the tower, but perhaps because of the season we're in, the trees hadn't really had all their leaves grown, which make me think that it could be really interesting visiting the tower in the different seasons, for example during winter with the snow and all.

Upon reaching the top, I don't know but I was kinda fearful a bit because we're quite high up, which was weird because I don't have a fear of height - am I starting to? Please God no. There are markers on the railing pointing to the direction of different cities. I took some pictures of the trees below and some of them really hadn't had all their leaves grown. My photos of them look good though, at least that's what I think :)

The walk back took on a different path and I saw that there's a little stream with different vegetation. It's cute. There's some cabins you can rent out in the compound, so I guess that's nice if you want to enjoy the forest more. I wonder what it's like going to the tower in the dark night, can you see the stars? Also, one of the activity you can do here is ziplining between the trees. I have never ziplined, it looks fun. For more pictures from the tower, go here.

Then it's off to Møns Klint, but we made a stop to take photo of the Queen Alexandrine Bridge. What makes this bridge special? Well it's on the Danish 500 kroner note.

On arriving in Møns Klint, the guide told us of the 3 different paths we could take, the most recommended one was of course the one that took us to the beach and he gave us time to explore on our own. This is Wikipedia description of Møns Klint - Møns Klint is a 6 km stretch of limestone and chalk cliffs along the eastern coast of the Danish island of Møn in the Baltic Sea. After going to the toilet, I started the walk down to the beach. It's nice with the trees along the path, but I knew full well it's gonna be a pain when I have to get back up all these stairs.

I got to the beach the correct way. The guide did inform us, there will be a point where the path branches and we need to choose the right one because it would get us to a dry beach while the left one has its steps submerged in a bit of water. It felt good reaching the beach and seeing this expanse of water. That time in Møns Klint was the only time in my whole time in Denmark where I had a bit of sunlight and saw blue sky. It was really good. There were quite a number of people on the beach. You would collect pebbles and I did see some nice ones. Some of them could be fossil. I didn't take anything though. I just took a walk on the beach, but I didn't go too far because I was mindful of the time I needed to get back up the cliff.

The walk back up was really hard, harder than what I expected. I stopped twice. There are benches on the path. The first time I stopped was to eat a Danish pastry that I brought (it was good) and the next stop was to eat a snack that I brought. Even with these stops, even when I could see the end, it was still really hard to power through all the way to the end, but I made it. Then I explored the other 2 paths. One path was all flat, it's for people with mobility issue. You can't see much of the cliff, but you could see the sea. The walk was nice with trees all around. I saw mushrooms growing on tree trunk. Then the other path started with some stairs but it wasn't so bad and you could see a bit of the cliff. I didn't go all the way on this one because of time. There's some lovely wildflowers. Overall I think, one could skip these other paths and spend more time on the beach.

It was a nice day all around. For more pictures from Møns Klint, you can go here. Arriving back in Copenhagen, I went to a small ramen-ya near the hotel and it was really good, but the portion wasn't as big as I had expected in this European country. I might have gotten donut as snack from the Dunkin' Donuts in the train station. It was interesting to me to see Dunkin' Donuts is kinda popular with the people there, maybe because there's no other donut shop? Does one need more donut actually in Denmark with their exceptional Danish pastry? :D
